SCREENPRINTING ART INFO
We are Mac based and primarily use Adobe Photoshop CS, Freehand MX, or Adobe Illustrator CS.
For screenprinting we prefer an origianl art file from the program in which the artwork was created. If you did not create the artwork in any of the above programs see if your program allows you to Save or Export (under your file menu) as an AI (Adobe Illustrator) file. This is preferable. If not save the color artwork as a Tiff or Jpeg file at 300 dpi.
There are NO art charges for customers that provide original art files created in one of the following programs: (1) Freehand (2) Adobe Illustrator (3) Adobe Photoshop (4) PDF
If you do not have original digital art in one of the above programs, an art charge of between $25 - $75 will apply to your order. We will review the artwork you provide and call or email you within 24 hrs. with the art charge before proceeding with your order.
If you want to use a hand drawing please follow these guidelines:
(1) Draw on white unlined paper
(2) Use a black Pentel roller ball or fine line felt pen. (pencil is not acceptable)
(3) Your drawing should resemble a comic book. Lines but no color fill.
(4) Make sure each colored area is a closed path.
Bear in mind that stops and starts in your line art will produce uneven lines. These will be visible in some instances in the final shirt. Basically, what you see is what you will get.
We will take your line drawing, scan it, and turn it into a vectored computer art file. We will then colorize it to your specifications, placing any text into the design that’s required and email you a proof. Once you approve the art by email or fax, we will then output the film and send it to our plant to prepare the screens & print your order.
If you have names, sponsors, or a lot of text you will need to type it out and email it to us.
A fax is not acceptable. We are NOT RESPONSIBLE for typos once you have approved the proof we send you.
We have thousands of color digital images that may fit your needs. If you select one of these images, the art charge will be lower, in most cases, than if you provide us hand drawn artwork. You must have internet access to view these digital art files.
If you need a totally original piece of artwork, our freelance artist can create it for you. Most original artwork will run between $150 - $200.
